What is a heat pump?

A heat pump provides heating and cooling by using electricity to transfer heat. In winter, it extracts heat from the outside air to warm your home; in summer, it removes indoor heat to cool your home. Heat pumps offer energy savings, reduced carbon footprint, and year-round comfort, without burning any fossil fuels at the source.

Heat pumps will help you save your monthly energy (electricity + gas) bills because they are more efficient than traditional furnaces and boilers. Heat pumps use electricity to move heat rather than generating it, making them highly efficient. For every unit of electricity used, a heat pump can produce three or more units of heating or cooling.
